The property is perfect for running a business away from the office with a dedicated Claro land line with a package that includes free international calls and 5mbps broadband Wi-Fi, plus a 30mbps (that can be increased) fibre broadband service supplied by the local cable TV company.  Starlink is now available in the Dominican Republic too offering blistering Wi-Fi speeds for around $50 per month. 

The advantages of a property like this over a home in a gated community aren't always properly explained but are worth noting.  At this particular home the live-in gardener / handyman remains at the property (but away from the villa) all the time during the week.  The salary for similar staff is around $250 per month plus holiday pay and so forth, an amount that compares very favourably with fees for a similar property situated within a gated community and without the headaches associated with such properties (pages of rules and regulations and proximity to other properties as an obvious example).  Look closely at the property and it reveals no bars on windows, no high fences, no razor wire, just a hedge and a low wall.  The owner can confirm that despite owning the property for almost twenty years it has never been broken in to (something that would be very unlikely in other areas of the World), so if you are looking for a family home where you don't need to hide behind miles of barbed wire and window bars then this is the home for you. Before committing to the rules and regulations of a gated community, perhaps you should seriously consider a property like this as a better alternative and come and take a look for yourselves.
